Story of MEDIMIX

Even though the foundations of Medimix were laid back in the 17^th Century when the Cholayil family ventured into the study and practice of Ayurveda, the brand was realised in 1969 by a Railway Allopathic Doctor named V. P. Sidhan. His profession meant he treated sanitation workers who repeatedly suffered from multiple skin problems and weren’t regular with the treatment prescribed to them.

He wouldn’t settle for just prescribing medication, the humanitarian that he was. Using the advanced knowledge of Ayurveda he had access to, he discovered a concoction of 18 herbal oils which was used to treat a range of skin aliments. In a masterstroke, he used it to create a soap… and named it ‘Medimix’. A soap that not only cured the ailments his patients faced, but also prevented them from reoccurring. More importantly, the workers would now use the medicine regularly – with their everyday bath.

He then presented its many benefits to his doctor colleagues and convinced them prescribe it to their patients as well. From there, Medimix grew over the decades, evolving from a medical soap to an iconic beauty soap. Soon, it was available not only across the length and width of India, but also overseas. offering a range of products for every skincare need.

Today, Medimix is available in over 32 countries, offering over 16 natural products for a range of skincare needs… and enriching lives globally with the goodness of Ayurveda.
